Mr. Tanjib-ul Alam is regarded as one of the of the leading corporate law expert in Bangladesh. He has unparalleled experience in banking, syndication, telecommunication, project financing, securitization, listing of public companies in stock exchanges, and advising foreign investors on regulatory issues in various sectors including but not limited to energy and telecommunication sector of Bangladesh. At present, Mr. Alam is representing clients in several large arbitrations in BERC, BIAC, JATI and ad hoc. He frequently sits as arbitrator in domestic arbitrations. Mr. Alam was appointed as the Lead Consultant by International Finance Corporation ("IFC") for drafting a new Companies Act for Bangladesh. In addition, he was involved in drafting the Bangladesh Telecommunication Act, 2001, Information and Communication Technology Act, 2006 as well as the upcoming Broadcasting Act of Bangladesh. Mr. Alam was also involved in the drafting of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act. He played key role in developing a number of products and solutions for the mobile operators in Bangladesh. There had not been any substantial telecom deal during last eight years in Bangladesh where Tanjib-ul Alam was not involved. Mr. Alam has also acted as counsel representing Grameenphone Ltd. in acquisition of GPIT by Accenture. He is the lead counsel for the merger of Robi Axiata Limited and Airtel Bangladesh Limited, two mobile phone operators, which happens to be the largest merger in the history of Bangladesh. Mr. Alam is a renowned legal consultant in Bangladesh, and has been involved in various projects funded by the World Bank. He was the lead Corporatization Specialist and Consultant of Price water house Coopers (Pwc) in the Public Procurement Reform Project funded by World Bank. Mr. Alam is also the lead counsel for the team of Tanjib Alam and Associates that is advising the premier bourse in Bangladesh, Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd, in off-loading its share to Strategic Investor under the Exchanges Demutualization Act, 2013. Mr. Alam is a leader in power and telecommunication sector. Mr. Alam was called to the Bar of England and Wales from the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 1997. He has been practicing in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh since 2005.

Previously he had completed his degree in BSc. in Economics from the prestigious North South University, Dhaka, angladesh minoring in Management Information Systems. His present area of diversified practice includes Admiralty and Shipping, Medical and pharmaceuticals Industry, Banking and Financial Institutions, Telecommunications, Anti- corruption and Anti Money Laundering, Company Law practice, Constitutional matters, Labour and Employment issues, Power and Energy, Criminal Justice and litigation etc. Mr. M. Saquibuzzaman has right of audience before the Hon’ble High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh as well as in all other sub ordinate Courts and tribunals of the country and makes regular appearances and submission before the Constitution Courts. Ltd. and New Golden Sea Shipping Pte. Ltd. separately in their corporate restructuring initiative in Bangladesh operations, etc. M. Mr. Kazi Ershadul Alam is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and frequently appears before the Company, Judicial Review, Commercial, Taxation and Admiralty benches of the Hon’ble High Court Division. He specializes, among others, in cross border transactions, corporate law, corporate finance, merger and acquisitions, commercial disputes, arbitration, employment law, taxation, telecommunication law, power and energy laws, banking and finance. His expertise also extends to joint venture, private equity transaction, securities law, international trade and intellectual property law, amongst other areas of law. He has advised a wide range of clients on various legal issues and is considered to be one of the promising lawyers in the fields. He acted as a counsel of the merger of two leading mobile operators being Robi and Airtel in Bangladesh. He also worked in several other M&As that involved huge financial transactions, such as takeover of GrameenPhone IT Limited by Accenture, equity investment of Alipay in mobile financial service provider pioneer bKash Limited, acquisition of four RMG companies by a non-resident company. He was also involved in several other cross-border transactions including acquisitions, equity financing and project financing. Notably, he acted as a counsel on behalf of Abul Khair Steel Melting Ltd. in a project finance transaction funded by HSBC. He also acted as a lead counsel in acquisition of shares by Jera power in Reliance Bangladesh LNG & Power. He regulary advises Grameenphone Limited and Robi Axiata Limited, the top two MNOs in Bangladesh on a wide range of issues involving regulatory, corporate affairs, labour and employment, capital market, commercial disputes, taxation, intellectual property etc. He also acted as a co-counsel in various litigations and arbitrations and represented a wide range of clients including national conglomorates like United Group, Summit Group, Abul Khair Group, Partex Group, Confidence Group, Akij Group, Grameen family companies, MNCs like The Coca-Cola Company, Danone, Coats, BBC, Berger, China Development Bank, Citi NA, Conocophillips, Dell, DHL, Juki, Novartis; to name a few, statutory bodies like Paschimanchal Gas Company Limited, Maddhapra Granite Mining Company Limited, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University etc. Recently, Mr. Alam represented Maddhapara Granaite Mining Company Limited in two arbitrations in two disputes with its mining contractor arising out of the mining contract. He worked in close collaboration with top tire law firms of the world and advised on various aspects of Bangladesh law including company law, competition law, merger and acquisition, telecommunication law, commercial law, employment law, mobile financial system, taxation etc. Mr. Kazi Ershadul Alam is a Barrister-atLaw of the Hon’ble Society of Lincolns’ Inn, and holds a Graduate Diploma in Law. He obtained B.Sc. (Hon’s) in Computing and Information Systems, University of London, and Master of Business Administration from the University of Dhaka.

Ms. Islam areas of expertise include labour and service matters, constitutional matters, construction and property law, taxation, arbitration, litigation, etc. She has considerable expertise in the field of property law. Ms. Islam was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2012. She has completed Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills from City University, London and also holds a Master of Laws degree in International Business Law from BPP University, London. She is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and enrolled as an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. She joined Tanjib Alam and Associates in 2015. Her previous work experiences include working as a legal assistant at AK Solicitors LLP, London and an associate at Huq and Company. Ms. Islam also served as a faculty member at the Department of Law, North South University, Bangladesh.

Ms. Mahbub joined Tanjib Alam and Associates as an associate. She completed her Bachelor of Laws from the University of London, UK. She also obtained her Master of Laws from Eastern University, Bangladesh. Ms. Mahbub is currently enrolled as an advocate of Bangladesh Bar Council. Her areas of practice include company secretarial services, incorporation of companies, trademarks, copyright, labour issues and land related matters.

Mr. Ragib Kabir has a wealth of experience in representing our international and domestic clientele in wide-ranging areas of law, particularly in the areas of energy and mining, corporate and commercial transactions, customs laws, merger and acquisition, company, banking and finance, financial crime, dispute resolution, labour and employment. He is also recognized for corporate commercial litigation in the Courts and Tribunals and has acted as a counsel in some notable arbitration involving construction, international trade and energy. Mr. Kabir’s clientele includes some notable multinational companies namely, Asa International N.V., CCL Industries Inc., Juki Singapore Pte. Ltd., A.P. Moller- Maersk A/S, IRIS Corporation Berhad, Radisson Hotel Group, International Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (Coca Cola Bangladesh), DHL International GmbH, Mashreqbank Plc. In addition to advising multinational companies and financial institutions on a regular basis, he has also advised some of the major banks in Bangladesh such as Eastern Bank Limited, Export-Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, Dhaka Bank Limited, and Southeast Bank Limited on a wide range of Banking law matters including but not limited to debt restructuring, recovery of loans, securities, and regulatory matters. Mr. Kabir also collaborated with Deloitte Legal International Pte. Ltd., a renowned international law firm on numerous projects. Mr. Kabir is a regular contributor of Doing Business Report published by the World Bank Group. Mr. Kabir has been highly commended by a state-owned intelligence agency and a leading international hotel chain in swiftly resolving a convoluted construction dispute. His other notable work includes advising Energypac Group in a high-volume equity investment by UAE based construction conglomerate, advising Mashreqbank psc, UAE in a complex financing for a power project and advising a leading telecommunications service provider in a significant dispute resolution involving its outsourced labours. Mr. Kabir was called to the bar of England and Wales by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn in the year 2014. He has obtained his PGDL (BPTC) from City University of London, UK and LLB from London Metropolitan University, UK.

Ms. Ahsan focuses on providing meticulous advisory services and, her area of expertise include, taxation, telecommunication, labour matters, FIDIC contracts, construction and property law, fintech and mobile finance, Islamic finance, corporate matters, international business, Muslim family law, banking, commercial transactions, joint ventures, etc. She has advised and provided legal support to the Norwegian telecom giant, Telenor Norge AS, in the Invitation of Offers/ Proposal for Granting License for Tower Sharing in Bangladesh. She was responsible for structuring and designing (from labour law perspective) the Ethics and Compliance Department of the Bangladesh’s biggest telecom company. She often serves as committee member for conducting sexual harassment complaints at workplace for a number of MNOs and local companies. In addition to leading such sexual harassment complaint committees, Ms. Ahsan guides and advises the committee members on the legal and procedural matters for handling such cases. She carried out an intensive investigation in relation to an allegation of sexual harassment communicated to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Pathfinder International. MS. Ahsan is involved in a project of establishing a joint venture fintech company, which involves 49% foreign investment (a telecommunication world leader). Her responsibilities in the project includes from negotiating the terms, drafting the joint venture agreement, drafting the Memorandum and Articles of Association to complete the incorporation of the company. Ms. Ahsan is a qualified Barrister and upon her successful completion of the Bar Professional Training Course (PGDL) from City University, London she was called to the Bar of England and Wales. Ms. Ahsan is a Member of Hall of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. She also holds a Masters of Laws degree in International Business Law from BPP University, London. Before joining Tanjib Alam and Associates, she worked with a prominent advocate of Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Barrister M. Amirul Islam at his well reputed law firm Amir & Amir Law Associates and another a propitious corporate law firm, named Vertex Chambers. Ms. Ahsan, also served as a lecturer at the Department of Law, East West University, Bangladesh.

Mr. Mashiur Rahman has diverse experience in dealing with various litigations before the lower judiciary. His areas of practice include commercial litigation, litigations under Artha Rin Adalat Act, Money Suit, litigation relating to Arbitration Act, 2001, Labour Cases, Civil Suit, cases under Negotiable Instruments Act and and Criminal Litigations. He represented Robi Axiata Limited, Abul Khair Group, QA Services Hong Kong Limited, bKash Limited, Grameenphone Limited, Juki Singapore Pte Limited, International Beverages Private Ltd., Akij Group and a number of other local and international reputed conglomerates in various civil and criminal litigations. He also has expertise on trademark registration and related litigations. He obtained his first Bachelor of Laws from Stamford University, Bangladesh and later obtained his second Bachelor of Laws from University of London, UK. He is enrolled as an advocate of the Bangladesh Bar Council. Mr. Rahman regularly appears before various benches in Dhaka District Court, Dhaka Labour Court, Cyber Tribunal and various other tribunals.

Since joining Tanjib Alam and Associates in January 2019, Mr. Hasan has gained immense experience in civil, commercial, corporate, company, project finance and energy law matters. He has assisted Partners and Senior Associates in number of high-value foreign direct investment and loan syndication projects in Bangladesh. Mr. Hasan has assisted Senior Counsels in a number of high value and complex arbitration matters before the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission in energy law disputes. Apart from that, he has dealt with various complicated matters relating to labour and employment law, company law, taxation law, energy law, telecommunication law, banking law, and admiralty. Mr. Hasan also possesses experience in Bangladesh Public Procurement laws. For instance, recently, he has assisted senior counsel for a Government entity as respondent and a company as claimant in two separate complex cases in the Centre for Procurement and Technical Unit. In addition, Mr. Hasan has experience in working with various government authorities including Bangladesh Investment and Development Authority (BIDA), National Board of Revenue (NBR), Trademark Department and Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC). Mr. Hasan was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn in the year 2018 upon completion of Bar Professional training Course from the University of the West of England, UK. Prior to that he obtained his Masters in Commercial Law from the same university.

Mr. Siddiq’s areas of practice include labour and service matters, constitutional matters, corporate matters, international trade, admiralty law, power and energy law etc. Mr. Siddiq has completed Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills from Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester and was subsequently called to the bar of England and Wales by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK. He has obtained his LLB from University of London, UK. He joined Tanjib Alam and Associates in 2019.

Mr. Affan joined Tanjib Alam and Associates in July 2019; Mr Affan’s areas of practice include employment, labour and service matter, Civil, Commercial, Corporate, Banking, Financing, Transactions, and Custom matters. Mr. Affan has assisted the seniors of the firm with diverse works including Foreign Transaction and he worked for many reputed foreign organization under the supervision of the seniors, such as Juki Singapore Pte, Mashreq Bank Plc, UAE; SAHCO International; Base Technologies; CheckPoint Bangladesh, International Beverages Private Limited (CocaCola) and IRIS Corporation. Besides Mr. Affan has experience in working with Government Medical Authorities including Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Mr. Affan was called to the bar of England and Wales by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn in the year 2017. He has obtained his PGDL (BPTC) from BPP University of London, UK and prior to that he obtained his Masters of Degree (LLM) in International Business Law from the same university. He further obtained a certified degree as a n International Civil-Commercial Accredited Mediator from ADR-ODR International, UK.

Mr. Shariar obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from BPP University in 2018. Thereafter, he completed his Bar Professional Training Course from Northumbria University in 2019. Experience: Mr. Shariar joined Tanjib Alam and Associates in 2019. After joining the firm, his areas of legal practice extend over the field which involves taxation, labour matters, company law, corporate matters, constitutional matters, service matters and so forth. He assists his senior colleagues in drafting, vetting of incorporation documents, commercial agreements, employment contracts and so on. He has advised his clients on issues related to labour, company formation, tax, securities and exchange regulations, mobile financial service, liquidation and winding up process.

Munqualib Faruqui finished his undergraduate degree from BPP university in July 2018, during which he completed two mini-pupillages at Grays Chambers and Legal Solutions BD. He then completed his BPTC from City University, obtaining his Call to Bar from Lincoln’s Inn on July 2019. Following his Call Munqualib worked as a paralegal at a London based firm named Lawmatic Solicitors, gaining vast experience in UK immigration law.After moving back to Bangladesh, he joined British Council Bangladesh as a Project Associate,acquiring indispensable experience in working at a corporate setting. Munqualib joined TAA on April 2020 and since then has had experience in company law, contract law, banking and finance law, labour law, admiralty law, intellectual property law, taxation law,competition law,telecommunication law, service matters and other niche legal fields. He has a keen interest in litigation, having been involved in drafting numerous petitions, written statements, plaints, affidavits and applications. Munqualib actively seeks to gain knowledge in diverse areas of law and engages himself in various fields of practice.

Mirza Ragib Hasnat, after completion of his Bachelor of Laws from University of London in August 2017, had completed his pupillage under Zahurul Haque and Associates.Thereafter, in 2018, he left for England to pursue the Bar Professional Training Course from Northumbria University, Newcastle and was Called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn on October, 2020. Mirza had returned to Bangladesh and joined Tanjib Alam and Associates on October, 2020. Since his joining, he has been involved in several land mark cases including Company Law, contractlaw, banking law, labour law, admiralty law, intellectual property law, tax law, telecommunicationlaw, consumer protection laws. Furthermore, Mirza have also provided opinions in numerous corporate matters involving a diverse question of laws, such as Safe Custody Asset Managements. Mirza looks forward to venture the legal arena to gain more competence, knowledge, experience.

Sultana Mumtaz has joined TAA in May, 2021 and has been gaining experience in the areas of Law of Contract, Company Law, Labour Law, Intellectual Property Law, Law of Taxation and Competition Law since then. Before joining TAA Ms. Sultana obtained her LL.M degree in Commercial Law from University of Cambridge, UK in 2020 being a recipient of the Prime Minister Fellowship, 2019 (Bangladesh). She completed her LL.B from BPP University, UK in 2018 and following that completed her Bar Professional Training Course (PGDL) successfully from City University of London, Uk and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2019. She has done two mini-pupillages, one being in Grays Chambers, Dhaka in 2017 and the other in Crown Office Chambers, UK in 2019.
